Safety and your data
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This page summarises what data Interview Helper handles today, how we protect it, and what you can control. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
1. What we collect
We keep data collection to what we need to run your account and the features you use:
- Account details — your name, email, and password (stored only as a salted hash); if you sign in with Google or Facebook, your basic profile and verified email.
- Onboarding answers — the short questionnaire about your profession, experience level, and job search.
- Files you upload — résumés, CVs, and supporting documents you choose to add, including their contents.
- Security and diagnostic data — hashed session and refresh tokens, the IP address and device or browser used to sign in, and basic logs.
2. Where it is stored and how long we keep it
Your account data is kept in our database and your uploaded files in encrypted, S3-compatible object storage. We keep personal data while your account is active. Uploaded files stay until you delete them or close your account. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then removed. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, sign-in identities, sessions, onboarding answers, and uploaded files.
3. Who processes your data
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the product, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloud database and S3-compatible file storage for your account data and uploads.
- Email delivery, for verification and password-reset emails.
- Sign-in providers (Google, Facebook) if you choose to use them.
- Product analytics, to understand and improve the website.
If we add features that process interview audio, on-screen content, or AI-generated suggestions, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy to name exactly what is processed and which AI provider handles it before those features go live.
4. Recording and consent
Recording laws differ by location. In the EU and UK (under the GDPR) and in all-party-consent regions such as some US states, everyone on a call generally has to agree before it is recorded. You are responsible for getting any consent the law or the other party requires before you record anything. When in doubt, ask first.
5. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encryption in transit, hashed passwords and tokens, access controls, rate limiting, and security headers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to notify you of significant incidents where the law requires.
6. Your controls
You stay in control of your data:
- View and manage your uploaded files from your dashboard, and delete any of them at any time.
- Permanently delete your whole account from Profile → Delete account.
- For any other data request — including access or export — contact us at aiinterviewhelper@gmail.com.
7. Responsible use
Interview Helper is here to help you prepare and perform honestly. Use it only where outside assistance is allowed, follow the rules of any assessment you take part in, and only upload documents you have the right to share. See our Ethics page for more.
This document is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. Interview Helper is intended for interview practice and preparation.
